Well said, but be careful - you might be called a racist for saying such things. I was. You might also be encouraged to attend “white ally” meetings like I was - you know, to help me acknowledge my white privilege. While I hope and pray the city recovers, I’m more afraid that too many Portlanders are unwilling to vote Conservative, which in my opinion is the only way to fix this destructive and utterly self-inflicted downward spiral the city finds itself in. Thanks to Portland, the entire state gets to suffer unbearable consequences. This latest article on Newsom and California (yes it’s a “right wing” source) should give all Oregonians pause....currently Portland - or should I say Multnomah County - is propelling the state to a similar fate.

Reducing crime is not rocket science. Bill Bratton did it in every city that hired him as police chief or commissioner. It's actually simple. Utilize broken windows policing and CompStat. These Ideas have worked everywhere they've been implemented. However there's one problem with making it work that cities in the past didn't have to contend with; woke prosecutors in district attorney's offices around the country, who are made up mostly of woke former public defenders and who rather than do their sworn duty to prosecute the crimes on the books have made it their mission to keep as many criminals out of jail as possible under the guise of nonsensical Ideas like "restorative justice." Mike Schmidt is a prime example. So while it may not be complicated to reduce crime, it's going to be difficult, because besides needing more cops and allowing them to do their jobs, you also need to get rid of these woke district attorneys and prosecutors because even if the cops start arresting and booking criminals for crimes that are on the books guys like Mike Schmidt and George Gascon will just let them out under these new "bail reform" measures that people voted for without knowing what they were doing.
