It's a funny, historically accurate book of Portland history that should be recorded, including when the rock band JOURNEY sucker punched Don DuPay which resulted in a BROKEN ARM!!
He was hired in 1979, and the Director of Security wanted out. So he fast tracked Don into the position, and from 1980-1986 he worked there and honestly, the building still exists, likely because of his advocacy. The stories are funny. So many of them deal with his constant butting of heads with the head chef, Xavier Bauser. Those ones are HILARIOUS. "His Royal Chefness" as Don calls him... I think you'll enjoy it. It starts out fun, with "The Lily Waver," this nut job American Airlines Pilot who used to expose himself to people... Don got him 86ed...LOL...
I ordered Don’s book. It’s been a while since Portland felt “light-hearted” so I look forward to his stories.
