Words cannot express how angry I am right now. And the absolute sadness I feel for the poor mother in this case, Whitney Decker, who attempted to save her daughters lives repeatedly, but was ignored by court officials.
Travis Decker, aged 32, murdered his three daughters, Paityn, 9, Evelyn 8, and Olivia, 5 Decker.
Federal judges must be “impeached” but family court judges cannot be “fired” and the process to get them out of courtrooms can be long and tedious. How many more children will be murdered before these extremist judges are held accountable?
How do you fire a federal or family judge?
This is done through a vote of impeachment by the House and a trial and conviction by the Senate. As of September 2017, only 15 federal judges have been impeached, and only eight have been convicted. Three others resigned before completion of impeachment proceedings.
In general, it's difficult to remove a judge from a case or from office, especially in family court. While you can request a judge be removed from a specific case due to bias or conflict of interest, removing a judge entirely requires a formal process like impeachment or judicial misconduct proceedings.
There are too many crazy judges…
