3.) The Tainted Rose: Stories of a Portland Detective

“My UnHollywood Family,” by Robert Crane…

Also by Robert Crane…

1.) CRANE: Sex, Celebrity and my father’s Unsolved Murder

2.) My Life as a Mankiewicz: An Insiders View of Hollywood

3.) Jack Nicholson: The Early Years

4.) Two Friends Over Drinks

This is actor Bob Crane, with his oldest son “Bobby,” and his two younger daughters frolicking in their new pool.

“My UnHollywood Family,” is not a long book… but it provides concise and riveting details about Robert Crane’s early life and his close relationship with his father Bob Crane. As Robert was the oldest, 27 when his father was murdered in 1978 in Arizona, Robert had the most time with his father and likely the deepest connection and closest relationship with him as a result.

This is Bob Crane, and his wife Anne, with their two young daughters, Deborah and Karen. His son Robert, also called Bobby was about 15 in this photo.

My UnHollywood Family, by Robert Crane will be published within the next few months, followed by Simon’s Place: Stories of the Benson Hotel, which details the several years my husband Don DuPay was the Director of Security for the Benson Hotel, beginning in 1979 and ending around 1986.

Actor and radio personality Bob Crane, when he was married to his beautiful high school sweetheart, Anne and the mother of his three children.

Both books are wonderful examples of what it means to live in America, while trying to create a life. Both books are full of information on begone times and lost customs and values. They provide amusing and sometimes sad glimpses into the Americana of the past.

When covers become available for both books, I will certainly share them here. They will both be collage style covers and designed by our talented graphic designer Chris Miller.

I provide commentary on local Portland politics, the dubious Portland Art, the snobs of the Portland "Literary" scene, and the good folks of the Portland poetry scene. I also write creative nonfiction, historical profiles, along with Gonzo journalism.
