Because Mike Schmidt released Phillip Lawrence Nelson, after he had been arrested at a violent Antifa protest/riot in early June of 2020, Nelson felt emboldened enough to act out a homicidal desire he had been thinking about for a long time - the premeditated ambush style murder of an adorable couple who had just found each other.
