MIKE SCHMIDT and KATE BROWN have BLOOD on their hands.

They chose to release a KILLER and that KILLER murdered THREE young women! THEY must be held accountable for what THEY allowed to happen because of their carelessness.
Three young women are DEAD because MIKE SCHMIDT and KATE BROWN chose to release the predatory repeat offender Jesse Calhoun, who then went on to MURDER three women, and probably more.

Longtime predator and violent offender, and now murderer, Jesse Calhoun, has been charged in the murders of Bridget Leanne Webster, 31, Charity Lynn Perry, 24, and Joanna Speaks, 32.

The long wait is over.

Many Portlanders knew Calhoun was guilty. Call it a hunch but we knew and now he’s been charged. The likelihood is that if Calhoun has been charged in the murders of three women, there are likely other victims as well. That is my prediction, that Calhoun will also be charged in the murders of other women.

The important issue is why was Calhoun released without being vetted by Brown or Schmidt personally, with the aid of a case file? Why was it that Schmidt and Brown supported and did not oppose commutation for this man who was released into the Portland community to prey on the weak and callously take their lives?

  • Why was Calhoun “released early” after having been convicted of previous crimes, resulting in prison sentences?

  • Why was his criminal history NOT examined by Schmidt and Brown more closely?

  • Why was Calhoun allowed to go free, along with a group of over 1,000 other inmates whom Governor Kate Brown granted early release for?

  • Why were Brown and Schmidt both so quick to release over 1,000 violent offenders?

  • Kate Brown completed a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Conservation, and a certificate in Women’s Studies, along with a law degree from Lewis & Clark College. As such, why didn’t Brown request help, (given her lack of a background in criminal causation) to make a better decision when considering the commutation of violent criminals like Jesse Calhoun?

  • Mike Schmidt graduated from college with a bachelors degree in political science. Then he spent two years in New Orleans working with Teach for America, where he taught social studies to high school students and coached basketball. In 2005 he began attending Lewis & Clark Law school and completed his law degree there.

The crux of their educational backgrounds is that they do not have educational backgrounds or experience in understanding aspects within criminology, criminal justice or criminal causation. So, when it comes to their lack of background in criminology, or in understanding the psyche of disturbed predators, or comprehending the dangerous patterns of recidivism of repeat offenders, why then did they not request the aid of subject matter experts?

Did they really think making those kinds of heavy and very serious decisions was easy or straightforward? They were wrong. And now three women are DEAD.

At the very least, they BOTH own the Oregon public an explanation!

1.) “Man linked to deaths of 4 women slipped through the police, probation cracks, 2023.”

2.) “What we know about the 3 Portland area women Jesse Calhoun has been charged with killing, 2024.”
