“I’m very happy to report that we’ve received the crucial endorsement of The Oregonian for District 4.

“With public safety and homelessness topping the priority list for most candidates running for office and for city residents, the next Council would benefit from Arnold’s perspective.”

“He also notes his ability to stay calm in crisis situations – a reflection of his work and past military deployment to Afghanistan. Calm in a crisis might be exactly the quality Portland leaders will need to show.”

We’ve also received some kind words from the NW Examiner.

“Law enforcement intertwines with the central conundrum of our time-the homelessness, mental illness and addiction playing out on our streets-and policy debates devoid of his experience would be incomplete.”

The race is narrowing.  When I began the campaign I made a list of boxes that needed checking to achieve victory. We’ve obtained endorsements from the public safety unions, from labor unions, elected officials, and now The Oregonian.  All that remains is fundraising for voter outreach.

I have a mailer ready to reach 30,000 District 4 households, but we need to raise $13,650 to print and mail it.  I’d greatly appreciate anything you can contribute.  Ballots will arrive shortly and we’ve got to have fresh contact and name recognition with voters.

Last chance for yard signs!  Help me get one last burst of name recognition in your neighborhood.

Are you willing to drop literature near your home?  The weekend of 10/19 and 10/20 I want to make a big push to drop leaflets on as many doorsteps as possible.  If you can help click the button and select Volunteer.  I’ll reach out about delivering the leaflets to you.  If you can do fifty, or a couple hundred, your contribution will make a difference.
