I’m glad things are working out for you, Theresa, and that you have a doctor who cares (and Don!).

But I worry that it sounds like you aren’t eating enough. It could be that the rest of us — Americans in general — eat too much. I trust the vitamins and supplements you are taking help out.

Thanks for just sharing what you went through with that process. In the 90’s when I worked at a California newspaper, I had a coworker who had her “stomach stapled” (no reference to “sleeve surgery.”) Even though I was paid to be nosy, I didn’t ask her for the details. She did drop a lot of weight.

That TV program you mentioned — “My 600-Pound Life” — I have a couple of friends who love that show. Together, they don’t weigh 300 pounds, so it’s easy for them to laugh.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, my doctor is good. He’s a character. Super thin. Easily 35 pounds underweight. I think he’s an advocate of that one diet. It’s called the Low Calorie Diet, and a lot of doctors and other advocates swear it helps getting rid of health conditions and prolongs longevity. I do try to eat enough in the course of a day. It’s a challenge but I make the effort.

I’ve watched several episodes of that show, and it’s horrifying. Most of the people are pitiful. Makes you grateful for your own section of green grass. LOL…

I had an unelected gastric bypass surgery in 2012! Better to do your way rather than left to suffer!

That's wonderful Carole. Good for you. Yes, my doctor really wanted it for me. He kind of talked me into it, because I think he really cares. And the surgeon was such a nice woman. I don't regret it, at this point. It's been pretty interesting... LOL...
