Movin' on UP, too-oo the West Side... Part Two!

Back in 2022, Jessica Vega Pederson made a demeaning comment about living in the West Hills. Read this great little Rip-N-Read by the Oregonian, on Willamette Weeks recent article & have a laugh!

An interesting aside: The notorious Piggot Castle, also known as Gleall Castle, is a wet dream of an old 1892 house that many Portlanders drool over, including myself. The Castle was built by architect, Charles Henry Piggot, (after his original architect abandoned the project) in the Romanesque style. It was later saved and rebuilt in 1979 and is estimated to be worth a reasonable one million 500 thousand dollars. In 1970 the Castle was protected after being placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This Oregonian article includes a great quote from Vega Pederson from 2022. In this shameless Rip-N-Read, which casts doubt on Pederson’s perspective on the West Hills relocation, one wonders if Vega Pederson is in fact a hypocrite?

Vega Pederson’s ostentatious Nouveau Riche jewelry choices will not be a hit among some of the old money families who still reside in the West Hills, who tend to be a tad more subtle and conservative.

Jessica Vega Pederson’s notorious quotes: “If you’re like me, you’re proud of our East Portland neighborhoods, but worried about our future. East Portland needs a champion.” 2012.

“I know for certain that the big money donors who are funding a hit piece against me definitely do not live in east Portland and likely never even visit here. I do live here — in this neighborhood. Not in the West Hills.” 2022.

Does she owe Portlanders an explanation?

I think she does, but that’s just me. :)
