LUME is a JOKE.
Shannon Klingman plays on the insecurity of women using shame based marketing tactics. Klingman is totally CRINGE! Her marketing is SHAME and fear based and also quite sexist because it is directed primarily at women.
Klingman makes a lot of claims but offers flimsy, slanted sourcing to back up her assertions. And we’re supposed to believe her because she’s a doctor? I think not.
LUME is a fake product and there is NO need for it.
In one cheesy commercial, a woman sings: “I found LUME and I lost my stench!” In one of many negative reviews, another woman says that LUME smells like “Perfume on a cyst.” Now, in a recent commercial this Klingman woman is saying that when people get older they STINK more.
FALSE!
Shannon Klingman is lying about people smelling bad as they get older. She uses buzz words, and vague references to “hormonal changes” as the culprit for people smelling stronger as they age. When actually the opposite is true.
On one of her many websites she blasts about how this “body deodorant” will change your life, while also claiming:
“As people age, our bodies continue to change, experience different hormonal fluctuations, and break down different chemical compounds. This is one of the reasons older people have a distinct type of body odor.”
I personally have never noticed an offensive smell with my older relatives, including my father, who always had a very sweet smell. His hair and neck always smelled sweet and healthy. I guess because he was always clean and didn’t smoke, or drink.
In one online article published by Scientific American in 2012, it is suggested that changes in the way people smell is natural and not offensive.
“In a new study, blindfolded volunteers reliably recognized the aroma of the elderly by sniffing sweat-soaked armpit pads, although they had a much harder time correctly matching pads to the young and middle-aged, and they were not able to make fine distinctions about age based on scent alone. Contrary to the popular notion that old person smell is disagreeable, volunteers in the new study rated the odors of the elderly as much less unpleasant and intense than those of the middle-aged and young.
Contrary to common complaints about "old people smell," the volunteers' blind ratings revealed that they found elderly people's odors both less intense and less unpleasant than odors from young and middle-aged people. Middle-aged man musk took top prize for intensity and unpleasantness, whereas volunteers rated the odors of middle-aged women most pleasant and whiffs of old man as least intense.”
What the above study shows is that Shannon Klingman is using SHAME, FEAR and MISINFORMATION to bamboozle consumers into Buying her “butt crack” “boob” and “crotch” cream deodorant to control their “stench.” She is also suggesting that if you are “old” you must also consequently be smelly and offensive.
The obvious solution to body odor is ARE YOU CLEAN? I have a great suggestion.
For all ages.
But NOT LUME products!
