Yesterday, December 3rd 2023 was a big success with hundreds of Oregonians coming into the Holiday Cheer Book Sale, to sell and buy books! A message from one of the organizers, our beloved Rachel Randles shows how important these events are!
Holiday Cheer Authors,
A huge THANK YOU for making yesterday’s 54th annual Holiday Cheer author celebration such a wild success! We had 65 authors in attendance, and with 584 shoppers nearly doubled our admissions from 2022 — and sold nearly $19,000 worth of books and merchandise, a significant increase over our 2022 sales figures! I know many of you sold through most or all of your books, and I saw so many happy shoppers with arms brimming with books. I hope you felt the day was as great of a success as we did! Each year we work to improve and streamline this event, so if you have any feedback, please let me know.
This holiday tradition would not be possible without all of you, and the creative talents that have led you to writing. I love seeing the range of books for sale at Holiday Cheer each year and speaking with many of you (and for those I didn’t get to meet during the frenzy of yesterday, my apologies!). Please keep writing, as I hope to see many of you back at a future Holiday Cheer; we will have the 2024 application up on our website in the spring, so please consider joining us again if you have a new book out!
Don and I saw so many of our friends, including our friend Kami Horton, author M. Allen Cunningham, author JB Fisher, Fred Lesson and his wife, and many others.
Thank you to all the folks who showed up, we appreciate you so much! And thank you to Kate Ristau, and M. Allen Cunningham for your signed books, I can’t wait to read them!
