Love your sense of humor. We actually unsubscribed from the Oregonian when they decided to cut the delivery to 3 days a week plus a bonus addition on Sundays. The bias of this paper has become quite apparent and the writing horrible. When she removed the comment section the writing was on the wall. Good Bye Oregonian....may the white racist men turn over in their graves...or perhaps roll their eyes!! :)

Thank you CharP. I do try to inject some humor in many things I write. Sometimes humor is so important to maintaining a good perspective on life. Yes, the Oregonian will probably cease to exist very soon...

I am one of the ever-diminishing number of actual subscribers.

Fred Leeson worked for a newspaper that bears almost no relationship to the one that gets printed a couple times a week.

Two other newspapers I pay to subscribe to allow comments, the NY TIMES and the WASHINGTON POST. Even the free to all readers WWEEK thrives on comments.

This was hilarious. I look forward to seeing what you write next about Bottomly. I’m thinking about doing something of my own on her but focused on her 20th Century approach to bringing more “minority voices” into the paper. She thinks her approach is something brave and new. Actually, it was tried last century by the Gannett chain. Didn’t work then, won’t work now.

Thank you so much. It’s going to be informative I think, and I’m going to keep it at 2,000 words, a challenge, because I tend to write too long, but it’s good discipline. I tried to be colorful in my delivery with the podcast. LOL…
