I was scammed twice with a bogus Blind-Date-With-A-Book group of con artists last month, and apparently, so were many other people, mostly women. After sharing that podcast, detailing that experience, I thought I would try to find a legitimate business and I was able to do that.
Watch my Facebook video of my new Blind-Date-With-A-Book review!
Blind-Date-With-A-Book originated in 2012, in Australia with Elizabeth’s Bookshop. In the last year, the ideas has taken off in the US and sometimes that involves shoddy groups of people who are basically only scams and not real businesses.
I found a really great business called Ivory Chapters, which is a business in Miami, Florida. All books are shipped from Florida as well and they have a website and multiple ways to get in touch with them. They seem very honest and legitimate.
If you want to contact Ivory Chapters, you can message them here, order from their website, in the link above, or send them an email at this email address, Contact@IvoryChapters.com
I also chatted with a woman named Meagan Elizabeth, on Messenger, and she was very gracious and shared that she was sorry I had been conned. She also sent me a link to her business, which I have included above.
The reason I decided to do this podcast is because I think Blind-Date-With-A-Book is a great way to promote literacy. I am hoping that people can find a good company who will help them have fun and encourage reading.
I have a great feeling about Ivory Chapters and I look forward to finally getting my surprise, Blind-Date-With-A-Book!
Woo Hoo!
