This is of particular interest to me because my son lives in Santa Monica and had to evacuate temporarily due to the fires in Pacific Palisades. I have a good friend who lives in L A and he wasn’t thrilled when she won. This is a lifelong Democrat who voted for her opponent.
Karen Bass has been in congress enough years that she had a visible track record. Also these old people need to retire and let new blood have a chance. I’m on Medicare so I’m an old person myself and still say that.

Take a look at our own Portland City District 3 and the survey they just put out. After bullhorning “better representation” with 3 Reps to sell this brick of a local government … Progressives dusted off their standard “social workers over cops” failed public safety policy set and a bunch of 6% Bike Lobby dictates … framed it as a “survey” - and and that is our “new” policy agenda.
Our local media will assist with the misinformation and sale of that destructive agenda.
Yep, reminds me of Portland. Basic boring essential efficient provision of municipal services are NOT being done. Ideology forward actions (DEI, racial and social justice, unsanctioned camping enabling, black male achievement analysts, cannabis empowerment days, free swim lessons for darker skinned individual) are what is the focus in the city "that no longer works"
