My order receipt said it was $22.98 plus $6.98 shipping, but my Paypal receipt has an additional $7.49 sales tax. On a $23 order...that's 32.5%. STRIKE TWO. My tracking shows that it was shipped from Ireland. Today, the package that arrived at my house is supposedly in US customs. STRIKE THREE. (And continuing on that, the label said it came from Dayton, OH on 12/31. Under that was a label that said it came from a town in Washington state. Under that was a label with Chinese characters on it.) The little "extras" do look just like the photo. A thin bookmark, a sheet of stickers, some post-it flags, a highlighter, a silk flower blossom, a piece of string, and a highlighter. Okay. They weren't decorating the package the way the photos show, but whatever. But the book...is a pamphlet. The "cover" is heavy glossy paper photo of the Chinese paperback movie tie-in of Nicholas Sparks' "The Last Song." Really not the historical novel I requested. Inside, it's a reproduction of the prologue (not labeled) and first two chapters of the book. (I know this because I grabbed the book on Libby to compare.) There is no formatting. There aren't even quotation marks on the dialogue. STRIKES FOUR THROUGH NINE. LEAVE THE FIELD. This wasn't worth $5, let alone the nearly $40 I was charged. The only good thing is that I decided not to send one to my daughter.

I just received mine today. I ordered two for Christmas. I kept getting an update saying they were coming. They were in Spain then they were in China. They were going to try to hurry up and send the books out for Christmas. I ordered December 6th. They came today, January 12th and these aren't books. It is a scam. This person should be put behind bars
I received only the Prologue to a Nicholas Sparks book and some cheap stickers. It was from Dedra Moul at the address others have noted in Dayton, OH. I have disputed this with my bank. Since she is using USPS to mail these items, it is technical mail fraud. We should all call to file a claim.

I also got the first chapter of the Choice. Even Etsy is doing this? WOW. These companies really suck. I did file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and also wrote a letter to the Dayton Police Department. I think this is originating in Belgium. Oh well, so much for this. I won’t be doing this again, but only out $28, for about two bucks worth of crap. I’m sorry this happened to you, too.

The address given to me by PayPal to return the fake 3 ounce package was in China. It is an address not shown in maps so it is bogus. Most likely they would say they never got the return so you wouldn’t get your money back. My shipping also showed that Dayton address, but under it was an address to an Amazon warehouse. Guess what? The same Blind Date with a Book is on Amazon. I called PayPal and went over the whole scam. Waiting on the new results of my dispute.

The address on the package goes to pain management facility in Dayton Ohio. Reached out to paypal and they denied my claim because I received a package even though it was not what was ordered or described in ad.

I have reported the company and sender to the BBB, the FTC online fraud department and the CA Attorney General's Office for online scam and fraud.
